Overhanging trees on Hampstead No 2 Pond were recently cut back to make life easier for anglers
In recent years, the overhanging branches of plane trees on the south bank of Hampstead No 2 Pond have been an increasing problem for anglers, making it difficult to cast out without getting snagged. The problem was particularly bad on the disabled swim, the only such swim on the Heath.
HAHAS made representations to the City of London Corporation (CoLC) about this and, as shown in these photographs, they carried out work last month to remove some of the offending branches. This has created enough space overhead to fish comfortably.
HAHAS would like to thank the CoLC team for getting this done.
