HAHAS Aims and Objectives
The overriding aims and objectives of HAHAS are to protect and promote fishing on Hampstead Heath by campaigning for:
-
The establishment of proper swims/pegs on the ponds (including accessible disabled swims)
-
The return of banks and areas that have been lost to fishing
-
The improvement of the profile of angling, which has suffered from a minority element of anti-social behaviour, through setting a good example, engaging with other Heath users and holding children's tuition sessions.
-
The right to enable fishing to take place throughout the whole year – in accordance with the Environment Agency 1997 stipulation that still waters are exempt from the close season (15 March -15June)
-
